In case you are not fan of social media (and many of our members share your sentiment), a majority of our updates concerning upcoming tournaments, new accounts, or general posts concerning officiating will be copied here within a few hours of their original posting on our Facebook page.

We still encourage you to "Like" and "Follow" our Facebook page to get these posts as soon as they come in and to participate in the many excellent discussions we share with other members and referees nationwide.  We also have a YouTube channel in development and our founder, Chris Balasinski, maintains a Instagram account that is not solely about officiating, but offers a glimpse into the private life of our busy assignor.

2017 Homenetmen 'Sevan' Games at Alliant University

February 22, 2017

Nostalgia was the theme of the weekend as I got the unique opportunity to assign half the courts of the 2017 Homenetmen 'Sevan' games @ Alliant University. I owe a lot of my officiating career to the game management training I received in officiating Armenian basketball during my college years; routinely making the commute from Irvine to Glendale and Pasadena for the 'Lead Officials' staff.

Now I get to pass on these opportunities to a new generation of Gray Fox Officials.

It was great seeing a lot familiar faces. Thank you to Miguel Gutierrez for entrusting us with this major event and to all the teams and coaches that – despite the occasional crazy moment – demonstrate an incredible passion for the game that makes each of their tournaments a real pleasure to work.
