Legitimate Hooking Offensive Foul by Tristan Thompson
We went a little low-fi with this week's video.
Image quality aside, this is a great example of what a legitimate hooking offensive foul looks like, as called by lead official Danny Crawford. At most levels, every time an offensive player executes a successful spin move, you'll have the defensive player crying that a "hook" should have been called. Do not fall for it.
Like any offensive foul, a hook should displace the defensive player or physically prevent him from making a play. On this clip, Tristan Thompson's hook displaces Brandon Jennings and prevents him from challenging the lay-up attempt.
